Good afternoon.  This blog is simply entitled “Character Confusion” because I have been reflecting about how many people struggle with knowing who they are in Christ.  I think that even unbelievers have less of a struggle with knowing who they are because they do not care about what other’s think of them…at least of of them don’t.  The definition of character is this:

    1
the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing.
    2.

one such feature or trait; characteristic.
    3.

moral or ethical quality: a man of fine, honorable character.

The keywords that stood out to me the most are “features” and “traits”.  A person’s character makes up who they are…their personality makeup.  I have often wondered if people truly understand the dynamics is having good character?  Suppose you have a struggle with lying.  Lying is of course wrong, and is a character flaw.  I have met some great people, but were habitual liars.  At what point can a person know that they are confused about who they are?  Is it right to pretend that we are something other than we are?  I have  presented to friends and family members (in a loving way), character flaws that they may need to take a look at or change.  The majority of the end results were insults towards me.

Could it be that by not knowing who you are can turn you into a person who is confused in character?  Has anyone ever questioned your character before?  Have you ever questioned yourself?  I have asked myself, what makes me so unique and so “different”.   The Lord has given me that answers so many times, yet I struggled with not knowing who I was in Jesus Christ; that in itself is character confusion because I was then judging myself and not knowing my value and my worth.  My theory to the madness of character confusion is to be honest with yourself and what you struggle with.  What may be deemed an innocent character flaw may actually be character confusion.

    Prayer Watches Of The Lord

What are the watches of the Lord? Watches are time intervals designated for prayer during the night season from 6:00 p.m. on. Watches are very crucial in the times of spiritual warfare (Luke 21:36). Have you ever tried to sleep or was always agitated during a certain time of the night, but just couldn’t figure out why? This is probably because God is calling you to pray and intercede during that time. There are original watches in the Old Testament that started back since the beginning of time:
    Beginning Watch – Lamentations 2:19

    Middle Watch – Judges 7:19

    Morning Watch – Exodus 14:24; 1 Samuel 11:1

Back in those times, it was pretty easy to shake up spiritual darkness and go into an area of deep prayer. Being faithful in your prayer life is vital to stomping on the enemy and plucking out every seed that your enemies have planted for you. There are certain times of the night and the season when demonic activity is at it’s peak. Why do you think that so much crime happens at night?

    Watches Of The New Testament

First Watch – 6:00 p.m.-9:00p.m.The sun usually sets during 6 pm. During this time is when Jesus healed many sick people (Mark 1:32; Luke 4:40). This watch is usually for those that have a strong apostolic calling and anointing to break strongholds and walls. This watch is for seasoned Christians who are determined and will do mighty things with boldness in the Lord!

Second Watch – 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. This watch is for seasoned intercessors only who are able to set forth the the ground before the midnight hour. During this watch is when intercessors are able to shake up and open things in the spiritual realm before the enemy gets ready to wreck havoc.

Third Watch – 12:00a.m. – 3:00 a.m. (The Witching Hour) This watch is the darkest and most demonic part of of the night…esp at midnight. Witches, warlocks, and satanists have fun and start their incantations during this part of the night. This watch is called for seasoned, strong and willing intercessors! You must NOT be afraid of witchcraft during this watch, or at ALL! This prayer watch is not for those who are not seasoned enough in the Lord to pray about demonic infantry, witchcraft, devil worship, or any evil entity. Beginning intercessors are urged to NOT go on this watch if they don’t know what they are doing. The Lord has given us dominion and authority over all things, and we have a right to trample upon scorpions and lions, and tigers and bears! This watch is geared for those who already know how to use their spiritual armor and warfare like never before.

Fourth Watch – 3:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. (Morning Commanders) Matthew 24:43 says:”But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.” This is is a disciplined prayer watch for those who have the power and training to wake up early in the morning and set the atmosphere. Jesus actually walked on water during this watch (Matthew 14:25-33). This watch is gaining territory, setting the spirit of prosperity and wealth, diminishing the devil from hijacking blessings and favour. This prayer watch sets our day “before it begins”. This is a powerful watch to be on when commanding the morning and setting things in place before the devil and his imps have a chance to ruin it. Plane crashes, car crashes, deaths, job loss, and any other act of the devil can be stopped during this watch when intercessors obey the voice of the Lord and saturate the day with powerful prayers. Read Isaiah 21:56. We are all called to a place in the Lord that we have been assigned. I have to admit, this season has been very rough for me, and I slacked in my prayer life. This is not the season to do this. The devil wants nothing more for us to slack and become lazy and passive so that he can attempt steal the our day so we can miss the glory of God. Ask God which watch should you be on.

To much is given, much is required.

I just had an awesome worship encounter with the Lord. There is something about when you beckon His call, you receive all His attention. I reverence Him like never before! God deserves much honour and respect. I acknowledge Jesus and the one and true Messiah! He is the only Saviour! Jesus is the CHRIST! (Speaking in tongues). Let God speak to your heart so HE can give you a prophetic word. God wants all your attention. You are His baby. Go before the throne and take out your alabaster box! Hallelujah!

I’m just sitting here thinking about how far I’ve come & how hard I’ve fought. I’m 32 years old, saved, & still pressing. I love deliverance. Despite being a leader in ministry, I don’t care what I have to go up to the altar for. If I need deliverance, I want it! Most people don’t want deliverance b/c their pride is in the way. Whatever will draw me closer to God and away from Hell, I want it. Hebrews 10:26 says “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.”  I do not want to remain the same.  I am in a place of continual discovery of who I am in Jesus Christ.  The coming of Christ for His bride is exciting.  I think back about how much I have struggled and tried, and fought for my life!  God’s hand is surely on my life.  I love the Lord.  For those of you whom are fighting, wouldn’t you say it has been worth it?  You know how strong you are by what you have overcome.  Worthy is the lamb of God!!

Would it be easy for you to determine if your friend and confidante is actually the devil in disguise? Could it be possible that the person who has blessed you after so many months and years turn out to be dangerous to you? Perhaps that friend of yours is operating in a stealth spirit and is trying to hide their true nature from you, in hopes of stabbing you in the back later? Proverbs 27:6 says “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.” It seems that wounds from a friend are just as bad as your enemies! Although the Bible does say that we must forgive our enemies and bless those that curse us, we must always be on our guard against the devil…who is our adversary! One thing I had learned in church over the years from a pastor, is that your enemy always comes to you in form of a GIFT.

Your enemy will not let you know they are your enemy at first. They will bless you when you are down and out, buy you clothes, help you with your business, pray with you, take you places, etc. The list is endless. But what if that friend has other plans? Perhaps you told them some deep dark secrets in hopes of receiving understanding and revelation on some issues. You realize later that, that person was just using you for information to use against you later or to sabotage you! This information is not to make you paranoid, but there are warning signs about people that God will clearly allow you to see. I will give you prime examples of things that have actually happened to me. Before I give you examples, the key thing is to “listen” to key things that they say or do. Sometimes the Holy Spirit is telling you something but you may not be listening to what He is saying. The devil tells on himself all of the time! He is a fool and liar! Example 1 I was friends with a young lady from church who was about 10 years younger than I ( few years ago).

Although I haven’t talked to her in some months now, the Lord was showing me red flags about her behaviour. She would make slick comments about how I dressed when I came to church, make comments about my son, criticize, and use me for what she could get from me. She was a powerful intercessor, and God did use her to assist me in broken areas in my life. To make a long story short, I began to realize that she was very jealous of me because I had things that she didn’t. She would copy everything I do. Towards the end, she used everything I had every told her, even my struggles, against me, yet had the nerve to come to my house to “check up on me” to see how I was doing after she hadn’t seen me in a while. That’s how the devil works. He is BOLD. Satan doesn’t care who he uses! What does the book of John 8:44 say about the devil? “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Example 2 There is someone in my life now that I know is my enemy but God has not told me to release them yet. I believe in the old saying “Keep your friends close, and your enemies CLOSER.”

Your enemy could be your friend! I listen how they brag about what they have

while I go without. For instance, I have told this person that I may not have a car. They will come out of nowhere and say “I am so glad God blessed me with a car”. If I don’t have a client for my business, this person will come out of nowhere and say “I am so happy that God is blessing me with so many clients and business partners”. At first I thought it was all in my mind, and I pondered if they were doing this to me on purpose of if they didn’t know they were doing it?? Those are RED flags!!! What God is showing me is that the spirit of Jezebel and jealousy, and it is on the loose, and she is going for the jugular! But read what the Bible says about Jezebel and her demise: ”

    2 Kings 9:30-37
“When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it. And she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out of the window. And as Jehu entered the gate, she said, “Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of your master?” And he lifted up his face to the window and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him. He said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down. And some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her. Then he went in and ate and drank. And he said, “See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king’s daughter.” …”
Perhaps YOU are the one that is operating in a spirit of deceit and you may not know that you are doing it? We are not be ignorant to the enemy’s devices! Your job is to pray for that person’s deliverance. It may hurt when you discover what they have done to you, but they are human and your prayers could change their life! I will be honest, it hurts me a bit when I see people to this to me and I haven’t wondered why? I questioned God and asked if there was something that was wrong with me? But God keeps bringing me back to the same answer “Don’t be distracted. Pray for those they despite fully use and hurt you”.

Think about how many times we disappoint God, yet He still loves us! His grace is sufficient for us all! You may have to go before the Lord and ask if the friendship is worth saving! Sometimes your “friend” may APPEAR to be blessing you in hopes of them thinking you need them. If that is the case…let them go! Romans 8:15 says: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” God wants to deliver us from bondage. You should feel that you “need” anyone to build you or or depend on. God is your source! If your friend is not edifying, building you up, holding you accountable…then you need to re-evaluate your friendship.

Perhaps its only for a season that that person was in your life? Seasons change and so do people! If you or someone in your life falls into any category that I am talking about…then you need to go before the Lord and ask Him what your next step should be. And if it’s time to bid adieu with your friend….do it in love. Perhaps your paths will cross again when or if they have changed. Allow God to open your eyes to the Spirit of Truth. Do not be deceived by the devil. In Jesus name!

Selfishness is a touchy subject for many people because most don’t know that they operate in the spirit of selfishness! I admit that I have and had been selfish with a lot of things, people, and situations in my lifetime. Sometimes it was knowingly, and other times it was unknowingly. There have been times where I thought that my motives, actions, and thoughts were right, but it was actually about benefiting myself. I have been born into a generational curse of selfishness.

The spirit itself tries to consume by surrounding me around people who take advantage of me and try to manipulate their way into my life through false pretenses. Has this happened to you? Have you found yourself, or someone you know that only seems to care about themselves, and no one elses’? Does it seem like no matter what you do to please them, it’s never good enough or they are always requiring “MORE”? Let’s examine the root of the word “self” from Merriam Webster’s Dictionary: 1: concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself : seeking or concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others 2: arising from concern with one’s own welfare or advantage in disregard of others 3: being an actively replicating repetitive sequence of nucleic acid that serves no known function ; also : being genetic material solely concerned with its own replication Selfishness can cause you to loose friends, relationships, and even blessings if you aren’t careful. I am sure it hurts when you put your all into something or someone, and they continue to take, and take, and take without being grateful.

That is a painful feeling. Sometimes, this is how we treat God. We go about our lives on a daily basis doing what we want, acting how we want, saying what we want, and having no knowledge or sincerity of how God is feeling about the issue. We can even be selfish in our prayers. Praying what “we” think is right, when it is not the Will of God. This is a selfish world. Acts 2:40 says: “And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” God wants to save us from a wicked generation. Our thoughts, our actions, our deeds are a reflection upon what is going on inside of us. If you have been blessed most of your life, and get upset when someone doesn’t do what you want, when you want it, then you are being selfish! Let’s look at some examples of selfishness and see if you or someone close to you are being selfish:

You or someone is always being blessed and having your way. The moment someone says “no” or don’t do it in an appropriate time as you want, You or someone get an attitude.

You or someone does not like to share

You or someone always wants people to see things from your point of view. Not equal.

    Rude and condescending

Lack of emotion other people’s feelings

Always wanting to have things done your way. Its your way or the highway.

You or someone see someone with a need and you have that need, yet are to selfish to share or put in the time.

    Greedy
I can add more to the list, but those are prime examples. I deal with selfish people all of the time. I may bless them with my time with something, and they take advantage of that. SELFISH!! What amazes me the most is how even us Christians can be the most selfish people in the world, but yet confess the name of “Jesus”. Nowhere in the Bible do I see Jesus being selfish and greedy. ““Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 16:19-21. I see all of these wealthy people in the world that have so much but are MISERABLE.

They have millions and billions of dollars, try to horde it all, and want to show the world they “got it all”. They are missing the key ingredient in their live…LOVE! If more people operated in true love, there would be less selfishness and more compassion. Remember the song “Brother Can You Spare A Dime?”. I think about that term…SPARE. The Bible says that if you sow bountifully, you will reap bountifully, 2 Corinthians 9:6. Being selfish is a destructive behaviour that can lead to sorrow and loneliness. I would never want to be known as a person who is selfish and not giving. If you or someone you know is operating in that spirit, go to God in prayer. Ask him to show that situation to you in a way that you can help manage it. You will be surprised what a little prayer can do.

I am very excited that I have made it to the 2010. With many failures and testing, I am happy to say that I am in the spirit of expectation. If you think about it…out of all the things you can possibly go through in a life time, and still be alive to tell the tale…you have to but wonder “What in the world is God up to?” I have many prophecies that have been spoken over and to me, as well as dreams and visions from God. I am expecting the best, and only the best from God. For those of you who have been trying to get that business off the ground…continue to do your part: fast, pray, and network. Perhaps you are seeking to be in a relationship and are waiting on the Lord to send the right mate for you…stay in expectation. Maybe your ministry is coming along but you need the funds to get things off the ground…stay in expectation! God is getting ready to do it! 2 Corinthians 9:8 says: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” Whatever you are asking the Lord for or whatever He has told you you can be…he will give you the grace to do it. Please do not give up on your dreams or promises from God. If God hasn’t given up on you, neither should you give up on Him. Stay in the spirit of expectation and let God do the rest! Your best is yet to come. Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
